The construction industry is one of the most polluting sectors in terms of CO2 emissions. That can and should be better. Sustainable construction requires new technologies and methodologies. Innovations such as circular concrete show that sustainable real estate projects are not a pipe dream. There are plenty of opportunities at our fingertips that we grab with both hands to make a “shift.

Creating Tomorrow Together

Today’s challenges are tomorrow’s opportunities. ‘Creating Tomorrow Together’ goes beyond building sustainable building projects. Our sustainability principles are there for our society, our surroundings and our future generations. Ambitious, but as a general contractor, we play an important role in making the construction sector more sustainable.

Identifying sustainability

Sustainability is measurable. Van Laere uses the CO2 performance ladder, among other things, for this purpose. We not only identify our CO2 emissions, but also reduce them Thanks to our actions, we are now at level 3 of the CO2 performance ladder. The next step? Achieving Level 5 – the highest rung on the performance ladder.

How do we do that?

We measure and analyse our energy flows, from fuel and electricity consumption to our waste production. With these insights, we take targeted actions and reduce our CO2 emissions.
We are putting our money where our mouth is and turning our sustainability goals into actions. We are looking beyond the headquarters and broadening out our actions to our building projects, warehouses and workshops.
We share both internally and externally our sustainability strategies, goals and actions. Open communication is central to our policy. This keeps everyone informed of our efforts. This keeps everyone informed of our efforts.
We believe in the power of collaboration and enjoy sharing knowledge and experiences with our partners. This is why we participate in initiatives that contribute to a positive impact on the environment.
