Minister Homans present at symbolic laying of first stone for the Flemish Administrative Centre (VAC) in Brussels.
Today (1 July 2015), the symbolic first stone was laid for the VAC at Tour & Taxis in Brussels.
The event took place in the presence of Minister Liesbeth Homans, Mr Luc Bertrand (Ackermans & van Haaren), Mr Philip Borremans (PMV) and Mr Frank Geets (Flemish Region); the name of the building was also announced: Herman Teirlinckgebouw.
Minister Homans placed a 3D printed scale model into a metal case which was then buried in the building’s foundations.
At the end of 2017, this building will be home to 2,600 Flemish civil servants. The building covers a surface area of around 46,000 m² and will be the largest passive building in Belgium.
